Join us for a fun weekend of riding, camaraderie, and adventuring. This is a typical "adventure rally" style event. Show up on Friday, explore the area on Saturday, head home on Sunday. We will provide hot meals and plenty of warmth by the firepit. The Uwharrie National Forest is a WONDERFUL place, and we are very excited to see it become a destination for Adventure and Dual Sport Riders. To that end: ALL PROCEEDS from this event will be used to help organize Uwharrie Adventure Riders as a non-profit (501c7). Our goal is to promote two wheeled adventure tourism in the Uwharries, help protect our beloved gravel roads, and, with any luck, gain more two-wheeled access to public lands.
You're welcome to hang around camp all weekend, or go exploring. There are no led routes, but we will direct you toward local publicly accessible routes that include a scenic gravel tour, a loop through the sandhills of North Carolina, a road route that highlights some of the local points of interest, and miles of rough rocky trails to test yourself. All of the local routes are a little over 100 miles and they're a fantastic intro to adventure and dual sport riding the Uwharries. We would like to thank Three Rivers Land Trust, our local tourism board, and the US Forest Service for their dedication to conservation and for their efforts to help keep the Uwharries an interesting place to ride.
DC Dirt Camp is going to be onsite offering their Into to Adventure Riding class. This class is for folks looking to learn the fundamentals of throttle control and clutch finesse to keep their heavy bike "in balance." They are fantastic folks and we're very happy to have them join us. again this year. Click HERE for more info or follow the link lower on the page.
We will have dinner on Friday and Saturday, as well as breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.
We have two restrooms with showers and there will be plenty of port-a-johns onsite.
The average temps are highs of 55°f and lows around freezing. That said, it was crazy cold last year, so bring some extra warming layers.
Kids 12 and under are free. We'd love to see some kids out enjoying the event.
